Ashleigh + Jackson's Black-and-White November Wedding at The Olana

Ashleigh and Jackson had a November wedding at The Olana, a European style mansion that perfectly fit the couple’s vision for a lush, timeless black-and-white ceremony and reception. Gillian at Weddings by Gillian was our partner in curating the right mix of romantic, elegant flowers with modern, moodier touches.

The ceremony was held outside, with the back of the venue as the backdrop, which mean we had a built in stone archway to design around and frame the altar - large arrangements in white urns were set at different heights to complete the focal point. These featured hanging green Amaranthus, which made them textural and lush. We also designed some ground arrangements to accent the start, middle and end of the aisle.

The reception took everyone indoors, where round guest tables were positioned around a black and white checkered dance floor by Centerstage Floors. The wedding party sat at a long rectangular table with a subtle floral-patterned linen, covered with low compote arrangements in etched vases, bud vases and candles - layered but simple and airy! Other guest tables had a mix of tall arrangements and low single-bloom arrangements.

Ashleigh and her bridesmaids’ bouquets were designed in an organic, manicured style, more bloom-focused with just touches of greenery. Dainty blooms like Sweet Pea were sprinkled in to add texture!
