Cathy + Stephen's Upscale Blue-and-White Garden Wedding

Cathy and Stephen’s wedding at Texas Discovery Gardens was a timeliness, classy and crisp summer wedding, all in shades of blue and white. Refined and organic designs throughout this stunning outdoor space were the hallmark of this sweet couple’s day. It was full of small special details that elevated the experience through the color palette and a floral-pattern motif.

For the ceremony, to create a manicured-yet-organic look, we designed two large altar arrangements of white blooms and lush greenery that sat on gold urns and white pedestals on either side of the venue’s fountains. These simple, classic pieces fit in perfectly with the setting but tied in with the rest of this couple’s beautifully curated wedding!

The reception had all the lovely blue accents, from the vases to the place settings to the flowers themselves — tiny bud vases of Viburnum stems were such a sweet touch! Each guest table had a collection of mis-matched blue-and-white chinoiserie vases with single-bloom arrangements of Roses, Tulips and others. Classy place settings completed the tablescapes with gold accents and more white and blue.

We’re huge fans of bridesmaid fashion and this bridal party pulled off the mismatched look beautifully in a variety of blue floral-patterned dresses. White bouquets with subtle touches of blue tied all of their looks together and added more of that organic-garden feel — so elegant and chic!

Aime + Chris's Lush, Jewel-Toned Ceremony and Reception

Aime and Chris’s wedding was such a gorgeous display of glamor and drama that still embodied so much elegance. We designed a one-of-a-kind ceiling display, altar backdrop, guest table arrangements and bouquets for this wonderful couple — all in the most stunning jewel tones! The Cliff House was the perfect venue for this dramatic yet organic-feeling wedding!

The ceremony and reception were held in the same room, so we were able to go all out with a ceiling installation that completely transformed the space. We used the exposed wood beams to drape greenery vines and plenty of flowers — including Delphinium, Amaranthus and Snap Dragons — from, all in rich purple tones. The “dripping” concept created such a whimsical and intimate atmosphere for the entire event.

The other statement in the room was wooden paneling in the back of the space that we decked out with a sprawling corner arrangement that tied in the purples up above with pink and red tones.

Once the space was “flipped” for the reception, we had two long guest tables to decorate with even more flowers to accentuate the whimsical garden organic feel that much more. Compote arrangements were a simple solution to making the space feel extra lush — gold vases and purple votive holders were the perfect touches to tie the whole vibe together.

Aime’s bouquet was the ultimate mix of lavender, lilac and mauve rose tones with plenty of texture between all the roses varieties, Cosmos and Clematis. Mimicking the bridal bouquet, the bridesmaids’ looked so stunning with their dresses in varying deep green shades.

Bouquet Ingredients: Kiera Garden Roses, Cappuccino Roses, Ocean Song Roses, Brownie Tulips, Purple Clematis, Chocolate Cosmos, Mauve Hellebore, Mauve Lisianthus, Huckleberry Greenery

Warm, Textural and Elegant: Tented Reception

It’s safe to say that the artistic vision that wedding floral design involves is one of the parts of our job that we adore the most. Working with Shannon of Shannon Rose Events on this event at JAREH Ranch was such a joy — this Texas-sunset-inspired design turned out to be a stunning statement that still seems so timeless. In a beautiful outdoor space, we put together a ceremony setup and a tented reception for the perfection celebration under the Texas sky!

The ceremony setup was simple, with two rows of benches for seating and facing a gorgeous pond and landscape of hills and trees. We designed wildflower-inspired ground pieces to line the aisle, which had the effect of blending in but still brought in pops of color and great elements of volume and texture.

For the tented reception, we designed a luxurious archway that framed the entrance. We used lots of orange, mustard and brown tones, but threw in some lavender to accurately capture that sunset color palette! This installation was definitely the focal point of the reception, and made for a grand welcome. We designed large compote arrangements in white stone vases to decorate the guest tables on top of stunning golden-yellow velvet tablecloths. One last floral touch was a floral garland around the neck of a special guest — a sweet horse that lives on the ranch!

This Texan and autumnal concept was both warm and refined, from the classic-style invited with rope detailing to the brown rattan-detailed chairs. The final statement element was the bridal bouquet, full of rose varieties, Ranunculus and Clematis. The mix of cool lavender and warm oranges made for a fresh take on the traditional fall palette, and our bride looked so stunning in her tulle-detailed gown and with this bouquet at her side!

Bridal Bouquet Ingredients: Amnesia Roses, Golden Mustard Roses, Red Butterfly Ranunculus, Orange Ranunculus, Lavender Clematis, Lavender Scabiosa, Red Berries, Mauve Hellebore, Cotinus

Rustic and Sunset-Inspired: Styled Welcome Dinner Shoot

We’re so thrilled to share some behind-the-scenes details and photos from a styled shoot at JAREH Ranch in Waco, dreamt up by the amazing Shannon of Shannon Rose Events! Shannon's specialization in weekend-long ranch weddings makes for such amazing productions for couples and their families as they celebrate joining together. We were so thrilled to contribute to this charming and unique inspiration shoot!

This welcome dinner setup was a pocket of that special Texas-rustic feel, with a stunning color palette of sunset-esque oranges and a denim-navy color that bridged all of the flowers and table decor with the natural green surroundings. For this guest table, we designed a series of compote arrangements that created a look of continuous flowers from one end to the other. Featuring orange and red Ball Dahlias, bright orange Ranunculus and Kangaroo Paw, these arrangements were lively in not only color, but shape and movement too!

The flowers were one of many elements that made this concept so dynamic, and the rest of the table decor brought in so many special touches. Terracotta-and-stone-colored mugs at each place setting added more of that western vibe while tying in with the orangey palette. Wooden benches for seating were the perfect choice for that warm, intimate and welcoming feel.

The stationery and welcome box design continued the cowboy motif, with a stunning hand drawn-style envelope liner, and lots more blue and western touches.  In a stunning full-fringe dress, cowboy hat and bolo tie, our couple embodied the whole vibe perfectly — the perfect indication that your wedding is ‘you!’

Compote Ingredients: Orange Ball Dahlia, Red Ball Dahlia, Raspberries, Orange Ranunculus, Shimmer Roses, Red Kangaroo Paw, Strawflower, Cotinus

Vibrant and Sophisticated: An Intimate Birthday Celebration

This week, we’re looking back on not a wedding, but a 70th birthday party! We had the pleasure of contributing to this intimate dinner party, planned by Sarah of Keestone Events, with floral arrangements. Keestone Events planned out gorgeous details for this event, from leather menu cards to etched glassware. We had a blast tackling this special project, and love the idea of celebrating big milestones like this with a carefully curated party that shows off the guest of honor’s personality!

We decorated the tables with dynamic arrangements and bud vases, all in a stunning moody color palette. We featured blooms such as black Sunflowers, blueberry roses, and purple Dahlias. We love any opportunity to play with lots of various textures, and the size of these arrangements created a lot of interest on the tables and helped create an intimate atmosphere.

Even with a scaled back floral setup, adding one or two extra arrangements throughout the space, like we did at the entry table, can easily create cohesion. This event is a great example of choosing an intimate and upscale vibe with lots of sophisticated and personal details over a larger guest count and bigger space with fewer special, personal touches. Especially for an occasion like a 70th birthday, opting for this intimate option can make for such a memorable afternoon or evening with close friends and family!

Arrangement Ingredients: Black Sunflowers, Blueberry Roses, Purple Dahlia, Black Scabiosas, Purple Delphinium, Gunni Eucalyptus, Agonis Foliage, Salal
