Simone + Patrick's Bold and Vibrant Home Venue Wedding

As many stunning venues are out there, you can’t get much more fitting than a couple’s own home to host their wedding. Simone and Patrick got married in the Spring, and went for a full-on color explosion from their front doorstep to backyard for an intimate ceremony and reception. We worked with Gathered Events on this ultra-vibrant yet sophisticated and upscale-feeling event for this special couple!

The ceremony — held in front of the house with the porch serving as the altar — was a show-stopper with color-blocked floral arrangements lining a white-and-black-checkered aisle that led to a custom square archway that continued the rainbow of colors along with lots of texture. The vibrant colors with the equally bold flooring and seating made for such a striking visual — it’s safe to say their front yard was completely transformed!

Simone and Patrick have a backyard space that was just as fit for the reception. A black-and-white dance floor nestled between some large trees anchored the setup, so we surrounded it with ground arrangements in the full color range. The head table was another focal point, and held colorful compote and ikebana arrangements. It sat beneath a black pergola — draped with string lights — that we accented with floral clusters and ground arrangements around the perimeter.

Other guest tables held similar bold centerpiece arrangements and taper candles in black holders — the place settings tied in the combination of black and colorful vibrance. The cake table also made a statement with color-blocked arrangements all around the base.

Simone’s long-stem bridal bouquet focused on the orange and fuschia shades of the color palette, and made a statement with large blooms like Peonies. It tied in with the overall range while standing out to accessorize this stunning bride!

Paige + Justin's Elegant Autumnal Wedding at Dove Ridge Vineyard

In Texas, Autumn doesn’t always feel like Autumn outside, and sometimes weddings can require a lot of help in the way of flowers and other decor to really bring in the Falltime vibe. We worked with Shannon of Shannon Rose Events to craft the perfect light and airy autumnal wedding for Paige and Justin at Dove Ridge Vineyard in the Fort Worth area. From the ceremony to send-off, this wedding had a more neutral take on an autumnal palette, with garden inspiration driving most of the floral elements.

For the ceremony, we design a natural separated archway up at the altar — soft, lush, and the perfect statement to frame the scenic backdrop and the wedding party. The mix of golden yellow, browns and neutral shades like champagne and ivory made this organic, natural, playful and vibrant all at once.

In the reception space, we added branches and greenery to the beams that hold up the venue’s cafe lights over the dance floor — this accentuated the high ceilings, brought the eye up and added to the natural garden feel. In between these beams, guest tables held either arrangements in white-footed vases or floral-and-candle clusters. The arrangements featured orange and yellow copper beech foliage for the quintessential “fall” palette while still remaining refined- and elegant-looking.

There were a couple statements in the reception space — a large urn arrangement at the bar and a floral arch for a photo backdrop against a wall. The seating area near the bar included some blush furniture that complimented all the warm gold and brown tones. Another crucial zone of the room — the sweetheart table — was positioned in front of a fireplace embellished with lots of candlelight and surrounded by ground arrangements.

One of the most important statement moments, Paige’s bridal bouquet, leaned toward the neutral side of the color palette with just a few touches of brown and yellow. Her bridesmaids wore sage green — which meant that the ivory bouquets were the perfect accent.

Chu Guo + Yu Xia's Romantic and Playful Wedding at The Arboretum

A venue like the Dallas Arboretum makes for such a magical setting that’s so easy for us to build on with floral elements to give the event a personal touch. We worked with Silent Tea Studios to design Chu Guo & Yu Xia’s ceremony and reception in a mix of lavender, mauve, yellow and orange tones — a soft and approachable take on a summer-to-fall transition color scheme.

For the ceremony at The Secret Garden, we added greenery and flowers at the top of the permanent arch and two ground pieces to decorate the base of each corner — all featuring lots of the varied orange and purple shades. This area is tucked away, perfect for intimate weddings, and looks stunning with even the slightest touch of romantic and whimsical floral elements.

The reception space sat guests with a mix of rectangular and round tables — we designed compote arrangements with sparing vibrant pops of color that were paired with colored taper candles. Other touches for the place settings like copper flatware and loose flower buds to embellish the name cards made these tablescapes perfect for this garden brunch. 

The linens were a mix of purple and orange — playful yet sophisticated with the right accessorizing. Before guests sat down, they found their seating assignments printed on pink and purple fabric hung from copper frames. Two ground arrangements sat in front and smaller floral clusters were attached to the tops of the frames.

The bride’s bouquet played into the yellow and orange tones with bright pops in Ranunculus and Sweet Pea, and looked so stunning with her flowy gown and statement earrings. Her bridesmaids wore shades of mauve that contrasted with the warmer tones in all the bouquets.

Sarah + Nathan's Vibrant-Wildflower Texas Wedding

Sarah and Nathan’s wedding at Stone Crest Venue in McKinney was a vision of Texas and wildflowers, designed with Shannon Rose Events and featuring a unique mix of vibrant cool tones in a collection of highly textural floral elements — a floral arch to frame the altar and a staircase installation as a statement in the reception.

For the outdoor ceremony, we designed a lush, overgrown floral arch that looked like it grew up from the ground, where the volume was concentrated and then got less dense toward the center. This was filled not only with a variety of flowers but several other plants and grasses to add to the natural feel. This achieved the statement look while also meshing perfectly with the backdrop of trees and rustic wooden arch and pews.

The reception had several touches that also made for floral immersion — greenery and flowers laced around ceiling beams and a dramatic staircase installation, along with a garland for the head table and accents on the stage and mantle. The space was grounded with deep blue — in the table settings and glassware — and the flowers provided pops of subtle, natural color all over.

The staircase, especially, created a garden-style atmosphere with lush greenery all the way up the banisters and a lush base featuring purple, mauve and yellow pops. The head table garland mimicked this style and, with pillar candles placed in between, created such a magical and intimate moment. The guest tables held a mix of arrangements in white vases and organic candle-and-floral cluster arrangements.

Sarah’s bouquet featured the full range of the color palette — purple, bright blue, red, yellow and blush all mingling with touches of greenery. The bridesmaids wore dresses in varying shades of blue that tied the whole bridal party together with an emphasis on cool tones and brought out the pops of Tweedia in their bouquets.

Sabrina + Chicago's Simplistic Yet Textural Wedding at The Emerson

We worked with Shannon of Shannon Rose Events to design a subdued ivory-and-blue wedding at the Emerson — a gorgeous venue with pretty simplistic architecture and finishings that we devised highly textural floral elements to complement. This couple was a fan of sleek and neutral style, so we worked with Shannon to incorporate subtle touches of color and lean into texture — namely with baby’s breath and Limonium.

For the ceremony, we designed immersive-style arrangements of flowers and grasses to grow up from the ground and placed them at various heights to create a natural feel. For this effect, you don’t always need to heavy up on large, traditional statement flowers like Roses and Peonies — even unassuming petite textures like Limonium, Queen Anne’s Lace and Baby’s Breath can deliver on that “wow” factor!

We transformed the reception space with a wall installation of Baby’s Breath that served the dual purpose of disguising a set of doors and making a statement. Long guest tables were decorated with oblong wooden vases full of interesting flowers to continue the textural focus and mimic terrariums. Organic-style floral frogs and candles, all on top of blue-and-white floral-applique linens, made for a whimsical yet sophisticated garden atmosphere.

The bridal and bridesmaids’ bouquets featured a bit more vibrance with touches of bright yellow and blue, and plenty more texture through touches of Ranunculus, Clematis buds and Bunny Tail.
