Upscale and Textural: Styled Shoot at The Hillside Estate

We’re so excited to share photos from a styled shoot at The Hillside Estate that we think is a great example of a refined and sophisticated take on bright, summer-y event design. This gorgeous venue allowed us to accentuate a European-style design inspiration and play with countless textures that complimented everything from the architecture to the trees on the property.

For the ceremony setup outside, we designed an organic-style installation that hung from the columned railing of the balcony that, while low-profile and natural-looking, framed the altar area and also let the backdrop of trees in the landscape shine. This bigger piece established a bright yet subtle palette of white, yellow, and shades of orange and red. At the start of the aisle, we put together collections of pillar candles and stone pots with branch arrangements. These brought some more color in and also tied in with the columns. 

Since this shoot depicts an intimate, elopement-type ceremony, a few unique rattan chairs made up the ceremony seating and added yet another textural element and a great pop of black! These contributed to the casual-yet-upscale feel, just like our bride’s short white dress. For the bridal bouquet, we put together a petite bundle of textures that perfectly complemented the backdrop and her dress, which had stunning mesh and embroidery.

This setup was refined, classic and upscale while still bringing in some playfulness and vibrancy with the color and texture mix. There are so many different ways to interpret “summer” for a design theme, and this is one of our favorites!

Taylor + Tony's Crimson and Green Industrial-Style Wedding

This week we couldn’t help but share a gorgeous, festive-looking wedding from this fall! When we got the photos back with this crimson and red palette, we thought they were perfect to share right in the middle of the holiday season. Our bride Taylor gravitated toward all kinds of fall hues and also wanted to draw from an industrial-chic design inspiration, which was honored in large part by the venue she chose (Brake & Clutch - one of our favorites!). We loved designing arrangements and personal florals full of reds, greys and neutrals. There was also plenty of greenery incorporated, which of course paired perfectly with the other tones!

For Taylor and Tony’s ceremony, we lined the aisle with greenery and candles, creating that perfect intimate, woodsy, and autumnal vibe, while letting the industrial feel of the space shine. At the altar, we designed a floral accent for an angular wooden archway that featured a couple of those deep red tones and greenery that tied in with the aisle decor.

For the reception just one room over, we executed a concept that is always tempting to do at this venue - accenting the chandeliers with vines of greenery! This creates cohesion and such a neat natural feel. Along the guest tables, which were accented with red cloth napkins, we placed more greenery and collections of staggered candles. These elements looked so classic with the wooden tables and gave that simple touch to elevate them and create intimacy! The head table held a fuller garland of greenery, which we tucked red and ivory roses into.

This wedding party’s personal florals were just as organic and interesting, with the bridal bouquet’s Panda Anemones, Eucalyptus, Dahlias and Rose varieties. The red dresses that the bridesmaids wore helped make that much more of a statement with the touches of crimson and white in the bouquets! Blue thistle in the groom and groomsmen’s boutonnieres continued the interesting texture and looked so classic with their grey suits.

Marina + Joseph's Glamorous Wedding at Knotting Hill Place

This week we’re sharing some details on Marina and Joseph’s spring wedding at Knotting Hill Place. These two went for a classic black-and-white theme that truly never goes out of style, and always looks perfectly fit for all of KHP’s details and finishes. From the columns and arches on the exterior to the oversized ballroom with sky-high ceilings, this venue made the event feel all the more grand and elegant! We designed flowers for this couple’s wedding and loved adding both subtle and statement floral touches!

For the outdoor ceremony, we designed four tall arrangements to frame the altar that all sat on glass cylinders and acrylic stands, which created a floating illusion. These looked especially interesting in front of the concrete column structure and in front of all of the trees that live behind the venue!

The reception space was visually anchored by a long head table and big lit marquee letters that spelled out the newlywed’s now-shared last name! For the head table, we designed tall ivory, white, and green arrangements to line the center on tall black metal stands. On the guest tables, we designed a collection of compote arrangements in black vases and candle and greenery clusters. At the entrance to the reception, we added some vines of greenery to their statement black-and-white seating chart. The whole space ending up feeling so cohesive and elegant!

Another area we added some flair to was the staircase! We always love decking out staircases of all styles with a floral statement. We did clustered arrangements on the first few steps with greenery climbing halfway up the bannisters to bring some major drama for the wedding party’s entrance into the reception!

Marina and her bridal party owned the black and white vibe and looked so stunning! We designed classic rounded bouquets of white blooms, black anemones and greenery for the bridesmaids, and a lush cascading bouquet for the bride herself that featured gorgeous dripping orchids! This whole wedding party looked so classy and we couldn’t be happier to have contributed to this special celebration!

Immersive and Lush: Spring Styled Shoot at The Nest at Ruth Farms

This week we’re sharing some dreamy photos from a super unique styled shoot we put together at The Nest at Ruth Farms with Silent Tea Events, Amanda Lane Photography, and a group of other great vendors. This concept was full of spring-only blooms, modern elements, and interesting textures and hues. 

For the focal point of the ‘reception’ area, we built a structure above the table that held a modern garden installation of blooming branches. This install created the most immersive, organic-feeling setting, which we built upon with low compote arrangements down the length of the table. The whole table design was relatively neutral but these arrangements added in subtle pops of purple and pink. Dark wooden chairs, a pink runner and gold and white flatware rounded out this simple yet interesting table design to have the perfect understated spring feel.

We designed another statement piece: an asymmetrical installation that framed the doorway, made of the same branches as the table installation. This venue is so perfectly neutral in its color scheme and finishes for a simple and natural yet romantic design. We love that sometimes we end up foraging small or large pieces of our designs ourselves - these pieces in particular were thanks to some last-minute foraging!

The bridal bouquet for this shoot was so texturally interesting yet simple at the same time, and utterly sophisticated. The pops of purple and mauve gave it that color and dimension and also brought the romance! This bouquet looked stunning with the bride’s lace-y, flowing gown and fits right in with the overall floral design vision.

Amanda + Jon's Classic Yet Modern Cinderella Wedding

This week we’re featuring a summer wedding that perfectly combined a bright, airy and classic vibe with some punchy jewel tones and modern touches! Amanda and Jon’s July wedding at The Milestone Aubrey was like a scene out of a modern-day Cinderella - so elegant and magical - and we were thrilled to be a part of it! 

For the ceremony, we designed an arrangement to decorate a dark brown cross at the altar, which stood out and looked so graceful against the large wall of windows in this space. On either side of the cross, we built two tall arrangements with classic round lines and that brought in some more pops of pink and purple. These sat on clear vases, which added an element of minimalism and sophistication.

To tie everything together in this gorgeous ceremony space, we put together miniature bouquets that mimicked the same style as the altar arrangements to tie to chairs down the aisle. We find that this is a great way to add in some more color, texture, and beauty for a ceremony on a small scale and in a way that doesn’t distract from the altar setup!

This wedding party looked stunning, and we had so much fun thoughtfully designing their personal floral elements. For the groom and groomsmen, who sported tuxedos, we kept the boutonnieres fresh and simple. The bridesmaids wore beautiful Cinderella-blue gowns, and their bouquets couldn’t have complimented the color better! Amanda’s bridal bouquet was so bright and classic, full of neutral blooms and the perfect strategic touches of fuchsia. It looked so stunning with her modern bright white gown!
