Brunchy Matrimony: Intimate Mid-day Wedding Celebrations

This week we’re spotlighting what we think is an underrated way to wed and celebrate with loved ones: over brunch! Whether you think you might prefer a more intimate and low-key reception, or you’re just a huge fan of mimosas and french toast, a brunch wedding might just be the perfect option for you! We’re looking back on two lovely couples that we provided coordination for that opted for personal and laid back wedding gatherings.

Rachel and Blake held their ceremony at FUMC Fort Worth and met their guests at Bird Cafe afterward for a brunch celebration. This sweet couple’s reception was the perfect intimate and sophisticated mid-day gathering for friends and family. We designed a garden-inspired faux garland made up of bud vases and greenery vines for the table. Complimentary of the dark wood and deep green linens in the restaurant, this simple floral design was the perfect way to elevate the setup and make it more personal.

Rachel wore a beautiful tea-length dress that served as inspiration for her taupe-and-blush-filled bouquet. This, along with her vintage-style clutch, were the perfect accessories for this lovely bride!

Bridal bouquet ingredients: Lavender Latte Roses, Cappuccino Roses, white Sweet Pea, Quicksand Roses, taupe Lisianthus, Snowberry, Nagi greenery, Huckleberry

With a similar idea in mind, Jane and Herb held an intimate commitment ceremony and reception at Sixty Vines with their closest family and friends. This was the perfect romantic and cozy venue for these newlyweds to celebrate with loved ones! We carried the essence of this greenhouse space into the table florals, incorporating warm, deep-toned blooms, and gold votive and pillar candles.

Jane’s bouquet featured gorgeous burgundy flowers contrasted with bright white roses and accented by delicate touches of greenery. We love the way it helped make a statement paired with her stunning, classic white gown.

Floral ingredients: burgundy Dahlia, white Majolika Spray Rose, burgundy Ranunculus, Nandina greenery, golden Amaranthus, Baby Blue Eucalyptus, Snowy Jewel Roses, Wax Flower

While you may feel the pressure of the conventionality surrounding certain wedding traditions, there’s only one real rule: if it feels right for you, do it! These two couples are great examples of staying true to your own personalities when it comes to your wedding plans. Focused on keeping things laid-back, they created the perfect low-key and low-stress gatherings to celebrate their marriage with, and we were so delighted to be a part of them!

Laura + Joe's Vibrant Autumnal Wedding

Wedfully Yours provided full-service planning and floral design for Laura and Joe’s wedding, and we can’t say enough about how lovely this couple and their families were. Laura and her mom were such a fun mother-daughter pair to work with! Held at the Milestone Aubrey, this celebration was so much fun and one that guests will surely remember forever. With custom cocktails, an interactive photo booth, and surprise late-night Whataburger, this event had it all! You can see more in their wedding video here.

The Milestone Aubrey has an elegant and open feel throughout, and its ceremony space has a wall of windows that let so much great natural light in. For the ceremony flowers, we paired a floral-embellished wooden cross with a semicircle of greenery and blooms that create the illusion of a lush growing garden. This palette was a colorful take on fall tones with pops of bright purple and yellow. This ceremony space was light and bright and the perfect place for these two to wed in the company of friends and family!

For the reception design, we incorporated the same color palette from the ceremony into centerpieces and tall statement arrangements on the guest tables. The head table held an overhead garland overflowing with berry-toned blooms, yellow leaves, and plenty of texture. All of the designs were paired with lush greenery and lots of candles to create some intimacy. We love executing unique installations like this for an extra-special atmosphere that completely transforms the space.

Another special floral moment was the staircase. We adorned the venue’s gorgeous stairway with purple and lavender flowers and greenery growing up the banisters, and it was the perfect installation to help welcome guests in.

Bringing this wedding together for Laura and Joe was a joy from start to finish. We love the longer-term working relationships we have with our full-service planning clients. We’re able to serve as a go-to consultant at every step along the way, and are right there day-of to help with all the details!

Laura’s bouquet matched her friendly and sweet personality to a tee. With such a diverse array of floral textures and colors, and perfect hints of greenery, this was the perfect accessory for our bride. Since ivory/wedding gowns still seem to be the most popular option for brides, bouquets are a great way to incorporate some personality and bring in the color!

Bridal bouquet ingredients: burgundy Dahlia, Cappuccino Roses, mauve lisianthus, Brownie Tulips, Cappuccino Ranunculus, purple Larkspur, purple Sweet Pea, Clematis, black Scabiosa, Kangaroo Paw, Cotinus, Huckleberry greenery

Julia + Derek's Modern and Moody Fall Affair

We love when the colors of the season manifest in our floral designs. Julia and Derek’s wedding at Brake & Clutch Warehouse embodied a unique moody fall color palette that perfectly complimented the venue’s modern-industrial design. We were so excited to play up the exposed brick walls, contemporary-style chandeliers, and other details of this venue space.

For the ceremony, we created an asymmetrical design on a wooden arch with flowers on one corner paired with light fabric draping across the opposite side. This, along with the exposed brick and Edison bulbs, made up the perfect moody yet romantic backdrop for this couple’s vows and first kiss as husband and wife!

This color palette is gorgeous and full of rich tones, and played well with all of the greenery accents throughout the space, behind the sweetheart table and climbing up the wooden beams of the reception area. We decorated the guest tables with plenty of greenery and bud vases of burgundy and neutral blooms. These wooden tables and chairs were the perfect style to match this eclectic design feel.

The bouquets for this bridal party were full of stunning rich-toned and statement flowers including peonies and dahlias. The bridesmaids had on gorgeous light blue dresses that made the dark burgundy flowers pop, and the bridal bouquet’s neutral and burgundy blooms looked beautiful with her timeless ivory wedding gown. We love when a bouquet serves as a true statement element of a bride’s look!

This fall wedding embodied a sophisticated color palette that we just adored, and the architecture and design throughout Brake & Clutch couldn’t have been more fitting. This couple wore this style so well, and were joined by plenty of family and friends at their one-of-a-kind moody and modern celebration.

Bridal bouquet ingredients: white Peonies, Kiera Garden Roses, burgundy Dahlia, Vendela Roses, burgundy Scabiosa, taupe Lisianthus, Peegee Hydrangea, Flannel Flower, blush Astilbe, burgundy Ranunculus, Sword Fern, Italian Ruscus, Huckleberry greenery

Heather + Dustin's Timeless and Classic Wedding Design

Heather and Dustin held their late summer wedding at the beautiful Knotting Hill Place, whose big ballroom and high-ceilinged ceremony space are unmatched! This couple went for a lot of classic black and white elements, which go along with the style of this venue so well. This ceremony and reception were filled with bold yet timeless floral statements.

The ceremony room at Knotting Hill Place is spacious with extra high ceilings and stunning crown molding design. This space is classy and simple yet grand and perfect for such a momentous occasion! We designed two large statement arrangements full of greenery that framed Heather and Dustin at the altar as all of their friends and family watched them recite their vows. These arrangements and this stately room make for such a sophisticated and timeless event design.

For the reception, the decor took on a similar style with some more elegant and romantic elements. The tablescape design included statement black linens, gold chargers and accessorizing candles to set the mood. We designed tall, elevated arrangements as well as smaller centerpieces. This reception room is also extremely spacious and grand, and we wanted to strategically design floral elements to compliment the space and its features.

These guest table florals were airy and light and full of greenery. We added in light-colored blooms that ranged from ivory to dusty rose, and made sure to bring the tall arrangements to life with spurts of greenery. For the head table, we put together a lush garland with the same organic feel. The theme of greenery continued at the staircase, which we embellished with plenty of smilax.

The personal florals for this bridal party are the epitome of sophistication and elegance. The light and bright bridesmaids bouquets paired with their black dresses made for some stunning contrast, and we love the texture of these bouquet ingredients. Heather’s bridal bouquet was the best of both worlds with matching white blooms and beautiful pops of pink.

We love curating the perfect design style and color palette for each and every bride we work with. It’s an added bonus when your venue has so much room, literally and figuratively, for all the concepts we could possibly dream up!

Bridal bouquet ingredients: Amnesia Roses, Quicksand Roses, Snowy Jewel Roses, white Ranunculus, Panda Anemones, Helebrore, white Astilbe, white Majolica Spray Roses, white Scabiosa, white Sweet Pea

Sarah + Jacob's Sweet Summer Barnhouse Wedding

Sarah and Jacob’s July wedding is the perfect example of a lush, light, and bright summer event. Texas summers bring a whole new meaning to the phrase “blushing bride,” and Sarah and her 14 (yes, 14!) bridesmaids looked stunning with their bouquets full of pastel-toned blooms. We collaborated with Jen Rios on this wedding; we always love helping her brides bring their visions to life! It was a joy to create sweet and summery floral elements for Sarah and Jacob.

After a ceremony at St. Patrick Cathedral, everyone headed to The Nest at Ruth Farms to celebrate the newlyweds! The barn that housed the reception is big and spacious with beautiful, simple details. We designed centerpieces and tall greenery arrangements to accessorize the guest tables and a garland embellished with flowers for the head table. This reception design was sweet and elegant with delicate touches that we just love!

Both the floral centerpieces and the greenery gave so much life and texture to this airy venue space and brought some lovely summer dew and brightness indoors! The delicate blooms in the arrangements and the garland paired beautifully with the elegant, gold-accented place settings. We love how the taller arrangements bring the eyes up and add so much dynamism to the room. Greenery can make a great statement just as well as flowers!

Finally, we want to touch on one very special detail, and the element that accompanies the bride all day: her bouquet. Sarah’s bouquet had the perfect combination of blush, lavender, and blue flowers with delicate touches of greenery. This light and sweet bouquet perfectly accessorized our blushing bride!

The night ended with the newlyweds being sent off by their loving guests with sparklers and escaping in their getaway car! You can see more in their lovely video here.

Although all weddings come to an end, we love being a part of the lasting memories created with the help of wedding photography. Flowers can truly make whatever venue you choose feel like your own custom wedding destination and will live on forever in your photos. Whether you’ve been eyeing your dream venue for years or are an out-of-town bride like Sarah, we can promise to put your mind at ease when it comes to the event design so you can be truly wowed when you walk into your own reception.

Bouquet ingredients: blush Peonies, pink Garden Roses, lavender Sweet Pea, blue Tweedia, white Majolika Spray Roses, lavender Scabiosa, white Butterfly Ranuculus, ivory Roses, Huckleberry greenery
